Abstract

The recent trend toward faster and larger submarines has led to an increased relative contribution of flow noise, emphasizing the growing need for design technologies that consider the impact of submarine geometry on flow noise. In this study, a numerical analysis method was developed to accurately predict the flow noise generated by submarine hulls and appendages. The proposed method leverages the Lattice Boltzmann Method, which offers lower numerical viscosity and superior discrete conservation compared to continuum-based computational fluid dynamics techniques, making it advantageous for direct flow noise simulation. This method was applied to simulate the near-field compressible flow around the SUBOFF AFF1 and AFF8 hulls and appendages, evaluating the influence of appendages on self-noise. Furthermore, the Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings equation was employed to predict the propagation of acoustic waves to the far field, analyzing the effect of appendages on underwater radiated noise.

최근 잠수함의 고속화 및 대형화 추세로 인해 유동소음의 상대적 기여도가 증가하면서, 잠수함 형상이 유동소음에 미치는 영향을 고려한 설계 기술 개발의 필요성이 커지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이를 위해 잠수함의 함형과 부가물에서 발생하는 유동소음을 정확하게 예측할 수 있는 수치해석 기법을 개발하였다. 개발된 수치해석 기법은 연속체 기반 전산유체역학 기법에 비해 수치적 점성이 낮고 이산 보존성이 우수하여 유동소음을 직접 모사하는 데 유리한 분자동역학 기반 격자 볼츠만 기법을 활용하였다. 이 기법을 적용하여 SUBOFF AFF1과 AFF8 함형 및 부가물 주변의 근접 압축성 유동장을 모사하고, 자체소음 관점에서 부가물의 영향을 평가하였다. 또한, Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings 방정식을 적용하여 원방으로 전파되는 음향파를 예측하고, 수중 방사 소음 관점에서 부가물의 영향을 분석하였다.
