Effects of time weighting and time averaging methods on the measurement and analysis of aircraft and firing range 항공기 및 사격장 소음 측정·분석에서 시간 가중 및 시간 평균 방법이 미치는 영향

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of applying different time weighting and time averaging methods on the calculation of Sound Exposure Levels (SEL) in aircraft and firing range noise measurements. A total of 50 noise samples collected from areas near domestic airports and large caliber firing ranges were utilized. For each noise source, SEL values calculated using the time averaging method were set as reference (SEL_Ref), and compared with SEL values derived by applying Slow and Fast time weighting methods at sampling intervals of 1 s, 0.1 s, and 0.01 s. In the case of aircraft noise, SEL values recorded at 1-second intervals with the Slow time weighting method showed deviations of less than 0.4 dB from SEL_Ref. In contrast, for firing range noise, applying the same method and interval resulted in deviations of up to 4.5 dB, indicating greater variability. The results suggest that, for accurate SEL analysis, either the standard time averaging method should be applied, or the Fast time weighting method should be used with a sampling interval of 0.1 s for aircraft noise and 0.01 s or less for firing range noise.

본 연구에서는 항공기 및 사격장 소음 측정 시 시간 가중과 시간 평균 방법을 각각 달리 적용할 경우, 소음노출레벨(Sound Exposure Levels, SEL) 산출에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 국내 공항 및 대형화기 사격장 인근 지역에서 측정한 총 50개의 소음 데이터를 활용하였으며, 각 음원에 시간 평균 방법으로 산출한 기준값인 기준 소음노출레벨과 Slow 및 Fast 시간 가중을 각각 적용한 후, 1 s, 0.1 s, 0.01 s의 샘플링 간격으로 기록하여 산출한 소음노출레벨 값 간의 차이를 비교·분석하였다. 항공기 소음의 경우, Slow 특성을 적용하고 1 s 간격으로 기록한 소음노출레벨 값은 기준 소음노출레벨과 비교했을 때 편차가 0.4 dB 미만으로 나타났다. 반면, 대형화기 사격장 소음의 경우, 동일한 조건에서 최대 4.5 dB의 편차가 발생하여 항공기 소음에 비해 더 큰 차이를 보였다. 연구 결과, 정확한 소음노출레벨 분석을 위해서는 표준 방법에 따라 시간 평균 방법을 적용하거나, 시간 가중 방식 중 Fast 특성을 적용한 후 항공기의 경우 0.1 s, 사격장의 경우 0.01 s 이하의 시간 간격으로 기록하는 것이 적절할 것으로 판단된다.
